Workshops – Parallel sessions

Parallel to the Plenary Hall sessions, the Data Summit Luxembourg 2024 comes with the opportunity to dive into an interactive workshop session, hosted by experts in data protection and data stewardship. Read more about the interactive workshops below.

Trainings require pre-registration and are subject to a minimum number of attendees to be held.

13:00-14:00 - Data Protection Training – an introductory workshop for beginners

In today's digital landscape, understanding data protection is more critical than ever. In this workshop, you have the chance to get an introduction to the newly launched Data Protection Training, designed to help you navigate the complexities of the European General Data Protection Regulation.

Following the themes of the GDPR Basics course, in this workshop you will get an overview of the fundamentals of European data protection legal framework, including Personal data, Processing and purpose, Roles, and Lawfulness of the processing. Through games and activities, this workshop will give an overview to support you in gaining insights into GDPR principles, practical examples, and avoid common pitfalls.

The workshop is limited to 20 participants to ensure an interactive training. We reserve the right to modify or cancel the workshop.

14:00-15:00 - Data Stewardship Training – a teaser into data management & stewardship

Facilitating the re-use of data in a systematic, sustainable, and responsible way requires many considerations for organisations. Data stewardship as a practice is becoming increasingly important in today’s data-driven world, where the amount of data is growing at an unprecedented rate.

The LNDS offers an introductory 2-day course on the fundamentals of data stewardship. The full-length training covers data stewardship core concepts, the skills of successful stewards, their functions, obligations, essential principles and practices. In this short session we will provide a teaser to our training and play a game that highlights key considerations for data management and stewardship.

The workshop is limited to 20 participants to ensure an interactive training. We reserve the right to modify or cancel the workshop.

Data Summit Luxembourg is the leading event for demonstrating value creation from public sector data. Showcasing a mix of sessions from academia and industry, along interactive discussions and panels, the event presents insights into the journey of innovation from data.

The event is created by the Luxembourg National Data Service (LNDS).
