We are delighted to welcome back Stéphanie Obertin, Luxembourg’s Minister for Digitalisation and Minister for Research and Higher Education. She will return to deliver a speech at the Data Summit Luxembourg 2025 , taking place on 2 December 2025 at the European Convention Center Luxembourg.
Minister Obertin’s keynote at last year’s summit left a lasting impression on the audience. She outlined a bold and strategic vision for Luxembourg’s data future, emphasising the importance of trust, quality, and innovation in the way data is managed and reused across sectors.
“[in Luxembourg] we embrace a different approach: one that prioritizes quality over quantity, strategy over scale, and innovation over imitation”
– Stéphanie Obertin, Minister for Digitalisation and Minister for Research and Higher Education
Her 2024 speech highlighted the National Data Strategy as a pivotal opportunity to position Luxembourg as a leader in responsible and strategic data reuse. She stressed the need for a robust regulatory framework, secure infrastructures, and a culture of collaboration between public institutions, researchers, and innovators.
For a small country like Luxembourg, high-quality data is a strategic enabler. By focusing on quality and interoperability, Luxembourg is building a data ecosystem that supports evidence-based policymaking, scientific excellence, and digital innovation.
